El Cheapo DROo

El Cheapo DROo

Postby Turbinedoctor » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:47 pm

Well I just got the Accuremote DROs for my mill. They are still in the unopened box behind me. Looking forward to installing them on my mill X,Y & Z axis. Do we have a place for pictures in here yet? If so I may take a few and post them.

Found out how to attach files.

This is my mill without DRO.

Stay tuned.

Got a 6" for the Z, a 24" for the X and a 12" for the Y axis. I think I got the axis leters correct. X = left and right, Y = forward and back and z = up and down.

I paid $260 for them and two 1" 45 deg bevel cutters from Grizzly. Grilly advertises them as Igage but they are Accuremote Stainless which they advertise to be twice as accurite as the Igage. .001 over 6" verse .002 over 6". http://www.grizzly.com/products/6-Stain ... out/T24360

Didnt bring my camera to work tonight but I got the Z axis mounted and working except for the display mount. I will get all three installed and then make a mounting bracket for all three. Started on the X axis but time got short and I had to get ready for work.

The instructions are very straight forward and the chinesse american is very readable. I used all the functions as described and it seems to be a nice little set up. I am very happy so far.

Stay tuned for more news and tool gloating at 11

Well I got the Z and X axis mounted this weekend and am very happy with them so far. Have pictures to attach but not at this time. I will post all pictures at once. Working on the Y axis and maybe a cover for them.

I got some pictures to upload but don't know how to get them into the download area. Maybe I should just try to attach them.
