Now that I have the niceties out of the way - I screwed up big time! Don't know exactly what happened as I'm still investigating it but I had to flush the database and start over. (I did have a backup but it got flushed as well. - Long, ugly story!) I have made some changes so that this will not happen again. I never had a Linux system crash like this before but it did teach me a lesson about having an alternate "off server" backup system.

I actually think I doomed myself with the "One step forward...." comment. Should have known that was asking for trouble.

So guys, please re-register and we'll get this thing rolling again.

Well, I figured I just did the "two steps back" part, time to get things going forward again.

Just to let you guys know, my wife just pointed out to me that we are going on vacation this Friday the 10th and I'll be away from my hardware for a week. Funny how stuff like that can sneak up on a guy. Fortunately I should be able to check in on the tablet computer I got the wife for Christmas to make sure everything is running okay and to activate more users if the rest of the build team (and some others) want to get signed back up on here.

I think things are working fairly smoothly on here (for now ) and about the only worry I have is some kind of massive power failure at my office that would require me to sign on the server remotely once power is restored. Which I am set up to do (keep your fingers crossed as I haven't tested my "emergency" procedures thoroughly) but it may take a few hours to have things back to normal, especially if I am asleep or away from the tablet. Really doubt that will happen but middle of winter in Nebraska, you never know.

Once I'm back I should be able to finish up the crank discs in pretty short order.

Did you have some problems with the site since you put up a backup? I hope you get the bugs worked out so you can relax.
